Late updates

I'm sooooo sorry for not updating this blog.

Here some quick updates:

22.8. Lauri participated to Kouvola Dog Show and the result was 1exc, best male, BOB, CAC under  judge Cristian Stavarache from Romania. At the very same day we traveled by car and by ferry to Tallinn Estonia where it was a Baltian Winner Show 2009. We stayed over night at a hotel and early in the morning we went to the Kaleva Stadium. Lauri's result was 1exc, best male, BOS, CAC under judge Rodi Hübenthal from Norway.

Altogether we had a great weekend, although the title was missed in Tallinn. We sure had great co-passengers on the trip. Thanks Sari and Kirsi! And it wasn't that croudy in the car either!

Next shows are not decided yet. There's going to be a quiet autumn. We're training obedience and tracking but shows are on ice atm.

Here some picture galleries I added:

Quads in The Woods 13.9.2009

Wet Games 4.9.2009

Lauri and Nappi in the woods 30.8.2009

Bye now!
I'll try to be more busy here...

Finnish National Specialty in Helsinki 8.8.2009

It was a gorgeous    day at Saturday when we drove to Helsinki to participate our Specialty Show. Alltogether there were 516 dogs. Malinois' were 66, it's a lot of them too! The Show was very well organized and great to be at, Thank You All who made an effort with it!

Lauri's ring started at 10 am and he was competing with Dusty in intermediate class. Lauri got exc and was 2nd. He continued to the best male ring but there was no success. Anyways, I can't blame the judge, Pauline Stern-Hanf from Belgium, because there were a lot of beautiful and stunning dogs. This time the best won.

I took some pictures when standing in the middle of the malinois and tervueren rings. I put those pics in my Facebook account but I think you can see them as well, without signing up. Pictures are here.

In case you're interested, the official Specialty results can be seen here.
Over 1000 pictures of the Show are here. Go and see!

Sakke, you're welcome anytime you wish for some tuna salad!
Everyone else is too! Come and meet our goofy Lauri!

Buddies, Shows and Games

Long time no seen. Pardon me, been so busy before holidays...

Now some things that has happened to us. *Picture warning*

First of all, Lauri has got a new buddy. She is called "Nappi" and she's a Belgian Shepherd Groenendael female. Her real name is Black Runaway's Fiia. Nappi is a very special girl, you can see her puppy pics here and her webpage here.

Nappi and Lauri are getting to know each other. Lauri seems to be a very "rough lover"   and sometimes we people have to calm him down a bit. You can see pictures of them playing here. Nappi has become bolder day by day and nowadays she's fearless when trying to catch a toy from Lauri. I recorded some minutes them fooling around with my cell phone (excuse me the not-so-good quality) and put it on YouTube. Check it here.

And here some recent pics of Nappi. She's looking like a Belgian Shepherd already!

Second thing. Lauri was in Mikkeli International Dog Show 25th of July. He was 2nd best male and got RCAC and RCACIB. It was pouring rain, but it didn't seem to bother Lauri. We, people, didn't like it that much. Our next show will be Belgian Shepherd Dog Association of Finland National Specialty Show 8.8.2009 in Helsinki. Why won't you all come there?  Then we could have a .

When not playing with Nappi or having some obedience training or tracking (we're training those too, believe it or not!) Lauri is relaxing with Otto and Taavi or playing football with Make. Pictures. He is a big boy already and I think his brain has started to develop also. He gives lots of kisses and hugs to people. We love him very much. Thank You again, Susie!

Enjoying 4-week holidays here!

Tuusula Summer Show for All Breeds

Today Lauri visited Tuusula Dog Show and left with the result 1exc 2nd best male CAC.

Lauri's friend, the German Hunt Terrier Tammitörmän Rex "Rex", was with us for the first time of his life... and the owners as well. Especially the owners were a bit excited about the show but Rex was all cool...

Rex's success was enormous, HP BOB Puppy! He got a couple of bows and a trophy too.

Afterwards Lauri and me visited Kennel Taikatalven to see some adorable gorgeous lovely cute fantastic malinois puppies and Sakke took some beautiful pictures of Lauri. These photos are now the "Officials" of Lauri. Here.

Thank You Sakke so much!

Darkening night

Today we're so busy that we started our evening walk in the woods at 10.45 pm. The sky was beautiful and looked even more red from different angles.

We ended our walk at 11.20 pm. The moon looked so big. I thought it could fall down from there... We almost saw the sun and the moon at the same time.

When driving home I noticed that it had rained a bit and the fields were covered with mist. I had to go and try to shoot some pics. It was 11.45 pm atm.

Sorry, if the pictures are a bit blurry. I tried many different ways to expose... don't know which way is the best.

I think that boys enjoyed the silence and the twilight. I know I did. It was almost midnight and Taavi got tired. Time to go to sleep...

In the last photo you can see the dome of the sky at midnight. The nature is so beautiful.

See pictures here.

Bye now. It's two weeks until holidays!
